Soil for Life NPC

Our accredited training course is available to groups of 10 to 15 people interested in gaining credits towards a General Education and Training Certificate: Horticulture Level 1.

Our course offers 15 of the 120 credits needed for the full qualification and covers the following unit standards:

119703: Mulch and enrich the soil of established landscaped areas (5 credits)

119704: Propagate plants from seed (5 credits)

119706: Plant and establish plants from containers into open ground (5 credits)

Who will the course benefit?

The course will benefit delegates interested in developing healthy, productive soil and growing organic vegetables. It is ideal for all Environmental, Social and Corporate Governance (ESG) conscious staff that need to connect with the environment. Previous gardening skills are not essential but a passion for growing healthy, nutrient rich food and soil is a must.

What is the full qualification & how many credits are needed?

The full qualification is titled General Education and Training Certificate: Horticulture Level 1 and 120 credits are needed. The unit standards above are building blocks to achieving a full SAQA certificate qualification.
