Pat Featherstone will teach you how to work with nature and her natural rhythms to control pests and teach you about the importance of biodiversity, companion planting and interspersing your beds with plants that repel insects. Just like any living organism, soil needs food to thrive. And just like any living being, the better the quality of that food, the healthier it is. Sadly, soil nutrients have been depleted by over-use and the regular application of products that do more harm than good.
Learn to build your soil using natural materials that are freely available to you and methods that are environmentally sound.
This workshop offers a hands-on experience in making and using compost, setting up an earthworm farm, brewing up your own natural fertiliser teas, working with green manures and cultivating plants that will feed your soil.
